Apply for over 16 (between ages of 16 to 25) Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) travel assistance

When to apply for SEND School Travel Assistance

Students over the age of 16 will need to apply online for travel assistance when:

• they start at a new establishment
• they progress to a new course

Students do not need to reapply where:

• they are staying at an establishment and continuing with an existing course where they already receive travel assistance

Tracker

Once submitted, you will receive a tracker number which will enable you to monitor the progress of the application.
Please keep a note of this as you will need it whenever you wish to access the tracker.

Post 16 contributions

All students over the age of 16, including SEND students, are required to contribute towards travel assistance.

This means:

• once your application has been accepted you will get an email which will tell you how much you need to contribute and how to make payment
• the amount is payable for all students in Year 12 and Year 13 and can be paid yearly, termly or by direct debit
