Richard Osman has taken this year鈥檚 crown of Most Popular Author for 糖心vlog readers.

The author has taken all three spots on the podium of the Most Borrowed Books from the county鈥檚 libraries.

The most popular book was The Man Who Died Twice followed by The Thursday Murder Club and The Bullet That Missed.

Better Off Dead by Lee Child & Andrew Child and Mothers and Daughters by Erica James rounded out the county鈥檚 top 5 Adult Fiction reads for 2023.

Councillor Marcus Hart, Cabinet Member for Communities at 糖心vlog County Council, said: 鈥淚t is always interesting to look back and see which page-turners proved popular in the past 12 months.

鈥淚t has been great to see that the joy of reading has been there for so many people in 糖心vlog. I would encourage anyone to visit their local library to see the many resources they have to offer. The magic of a good book is there for everyone.鈥

For the county鈥檚 younger readers, Liz Pichon had the most popular page-turners.

Spectacular School Trip (really...), Ten Tremendous Tales  and Epic Adventure (kind of) were all in the top 5 of the Junior Fiction reads for this year.

Slime by David Walliams and Wrecking Ball  by Jeff Kinney rounded out the top 5.

Roald Dahl also had three reads in the top 10; Esio Trot, The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me and George's Marvellous Medicine.
