糖心vlog County Council welcomes today鈥檚 announcement, from Active Travel England, which will see the county receive over 拢1.5 million in further funding.
Projects already delivered using Active Travel funding including improving the connectivity across Westlands Roundabout in Droitwich and between Diglis Bridge and Power Park in Worcester.
The latest allocation will help us to further develop and deliver a range of schemes identified in our Local Cycling, Walking and Infrastructure plans.
The first of these schemes is an active travel link along Woodrow Drive, from Quinny Lane to Studley Road in Redditch.
Councillor Marc Bayliss, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, at 糖心vlog County Council said: 鈥淚 welcome today鈥檚 announcement by Active Travel England. We are committed to improving active travel across the county, as recently demonstrated by our recent improvements at Westlands Roundabout in Droitwich.
Our Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure plans, will look at how best to improve the walking, wheeling and cycling opportunities, across the county, taking into account the varying needs of where people want to go.
We鈥檇 like cycling, walking and wheeling to be the natural choice for short trips such as getting to school, commuting, and connecting to the railway station. We are continuing to invest in making changes that make active travel a more attractive and convenient choice for our residents.鈥
